Week 20 has come and gone

Note: This is a copy of the email sent out the the league this week.

Week 20 has come and gone, leaving in its wake 3 vicious slaughters and two games of goaltending embarrassment. AmIGone held out against Mighty Taco by dominating in the skater category while the goaltending points went to the Taco. Similarly, Ice Kinkajous dominated the goaltending while sacrificing a few skating points, leaving him enough to pull out a win. Meanwhile, the Bombers and Thunder Bay proved their dominance by winning in 9 categories each. DaZ have put themselves in a precarious position as they are now only two points ahead of the 7th place Mighty Tacos and a trip to the consolation playoffs. The week's big surprise was Windy City Matrix's blowout win (and season best) over Wicked Pissahs, keeping their hopes alive for breaking out of the lower bracket. Windy City took 9 categories, losing only in goalie wins, proving that good goaltending and winning are not inextricably linked.

This week, AmIGone will face off against the Bombers to settle their series. AmIGone just won the series against Mighty Taco - can they do the same to the Bombers (who just dominated DaZ)? Speaking of Mighty Taco, they take on Wicked Pissahs, who are looking to even up the series before the regular season is over. Who will have what it takes? With only three weeks left, the outcome has serious playoff implications for both teams. DaZ will try to regain their swagger against the resurgent chiefs. Yet another game with playoff implications, DaZ has a tenuous hold on the final position in the championship. After both teams were handed humiliating losses last week, this could be a blood bath! Thunder Bay looks to continue their domination of the Ice Kinkajous to secure their spot in the playoffs. The Kinkajous are in the middle of the championship pack and will be looking to improve their seed in the coming weeks. Finally, Nocturne's Killers and Windy City Matrix face off this week to determine the outcome of their series. Tied at one a piece, Windy City is just coming off of their biggest win of the season - will their momentum continue or was it the final blip before their season petered out?
