A New Era?

Note: This is a copy of the email sent out to the league this week.

Week 10 has passed with only the second non-win of AmIGone! In a thunderous battle, AmIGone and Wicked Pissahs combined for the season's second tie... the game was so close and each team so deadly that their goalie stats would have won ALL 4 CATEGORIES against any other opponent in week 10 except Windy City Matrix! Instead of domination, though, 5 wins and 2 shutouts a piece only amounted to two tied categories (with a split between the GAA and Save %). AmIGone squeaked by with 36 points to Wicked Pissah's 35. A battle for the ages - good thing that there will be a tie-breaker towards the end of the season.

In other action last week, DaZ blew Mighty Taco out of the rink with a grand performance from their skaters while Thunder Bay did the same to the Bombers. chiefs lost a close one to Nocturne's Killers and Ice Kinkajous proved their dominance of Windy City Matrix.

Week 11 is, of course, already in full swing with plenty of action early... Mighty Taco looks to be taking revenge on AmIGone with a lead early. Could this be the end of AmIGone's uncontested lead? However, its looks as though Wicked Pissahs may have spent themselves on last week's match as they are barely holding their own against Windy City Matrix. Once again, DaZ really seems to be moving up in the scale as they have begun to pound on the Bombers. There are no clear leaders in the battles between the chiefs and Thunder Bay or Ice Kinkajous and Nocturne's Killers.

This week is Triple Coupon Week!

Here it goes again...

Note: This is a copy of the email sent out to the league this week.

Over 1/3 of the way through the season and closing in on the half-way point, The Main Event has seen each team match up against each other once so far. The rotation begins again and the time for revenge or domination is at hand. Can AmIGone continue their domination of the league? Do the chiefs have the recipe for a run down the second half of the league? Is Mighty Taco really just a poor-man's version of Taco Bell? Will anyone figure out what a Kinkajou is and why it should know anything about hockey? Some of these questions will be answered, some... the world may sooner find out how many licks it takes to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop.

This past week, in response to growing grumblings from various unnamed bomb-astic Managers, the league commissioner again opened himself up for questions in a press conference. The question that opened the conference off was again about possible collusion between the manager of AmIGone and the commissioner. Commissioner Bowman's response came with his tongue in full view of the reporters, "phthbtttttttttttttttt....." Commissioner Bowman then promptly ended the press conference.

Around the league last week, the fight for last place ended with the chiefs losing out again. The game was close enough, though, to lift both the chiefs and Kinkajous away from the bottom of the leauge as Windy City Matrix suffered their first shutout of the year. AmIGone have now posted two shutouts in the season (8-0 and 9-0). Wicked Pissahs suffered a setback as up-and-coming DaZ came up with a strong win, vaulting them into 3rd place in the league. Of course, that lead is tenuous at best as four other teams are within 4 points of 3rd place. Thunder Bay's tremendous upset of AmIGone has been followed up by a large goose egg as they lost a squeaker to Mighty Taco. Finally, Nocturne's Killers thrashed the Bombers, to take second place outright in the Bowman Division: AmIGone leads 3-0, followed by Nocturne's Killers 2-1, Bombers 1-2, and Mighty Taco 1-2 (Bombers hold the tie-breaker).

Coming up this week... the rematches begin. Wicked Pissahs get their chance against AmIGone. The teams look different but will the score reflect that? Mighty Taco and DaZ held a close match last time - now that DaZ is heating up, Mighty Taco will need to put in a spicier performance to hang around. Bombers and Thunder Bay also had a close game in their last matchup. Who's going to bomb this week and who's going to bring the thunder? (I know... that one was too easy and very clichéd. So sue me.) The chiefs can show if they have what it takes to make a come-back by taking down Nocturne's Killers. The second matchup between the father of a new baby and the baby of the family commences... Finally, Windy City Matrix will try to prove once and for all that she does have the skills to be employed at ESPN by taking down her rival the Kinkajous. Of course, Ice Kinkajous think that ESPN knows more about ice fishing than ice hockey and they intend to prove it...

It looks to be another interesting week! Remember - don't let your life get in the way of a good week of Fantasy Hockey!
